Are you the custodian of a public record? Under Vermont’s Public Records Act, municipal officials are responsible for providing timely and effective responses to records requests. In this session, we summarize the definitions, exemptions, deadlines, costs, and nuances of the law to help you best meet your responsibilities and avoid costly penalties. We also examine several of the most common and confusing exemptions.

Speaker: Carl Andeer, Staff Attorney II, VLCT Municipal Assistance Center.

Recorded: March 09, 2022
