NextGen Vermont: Navigating 21st Century Governance
Presented by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns
Join municipal officials from across the state for Town Fair 2025, VLCT’s annual flagship event celebrating local leadership, community collaboration, and the future of municipal governance in Vermont.
This year’s theme, NextGen Vermont: Navigating 21st Century Governance, explores how towns and cities can rise to today’s challenges and embrace the opportunities ahead —from digital innovation to workforce transformation to inclusive civic engagement.
Highlights include:
- A full hot breakfast with roundtable discussions to kickstart the day
- A powerful keynote by Tami Pyfer of The Dignity Index, examining how local government leaders can help bridge the political and cultural divisions within communities
- Training tracks tailored to your role, including: Clerks and Treasurers, Listers and Assessors, Highway and Road officials, Town Managers and Administrators, and Selectboard/City Council Members.
- A bustling tradeshow, where you can explore tools, services, and solutions to support your community
- Lunch and awards presentation, honoring outstanding public service with VLCT’s Lifetime Achievement, Municipal Service, and Legislative Service awards
- An end-of-day ice cream social and raffle prize drawing
Don’t forget to visit the Exhibit Hall throughout the day to connect with vendors, gather ideas, and purchase raffle tickets. All raffle proceeds support VLCT’s Municipal Service Scholarship, helping to build the next generation of municipal leaders.
Town Fair is where Vermont towns and cities come together to learn, connect, and lead forward.
