Overview

The Department of Buildings & General Services is administering an exciting new program providing energy resilience services to municipalities across Vermont! Following the passage of Act.172, the department was tasked with administering $45million in program grant funding to support the installation of energy conservation measures including weatherization, air sealing, lighting, and HVAC equipment, as well as resilience measures such as solar PV and energy storage.

As the primary point of contact between BGS, Regional Planning Commissions (RPC), and municipalities, this position coordinates the functions of the Municipal Energy Resilience Program (MERP) with participating municipalities through extensive education and outreach. The Coordinator collaborates with MERP stakeholders on program development, measurement and verification. Stakeholders include Regional Planning Commissions, Efficiency Vermont, Vermont League of Cities and Towns, Department of Public Service, and municipalities.
