The Town of Calais is seeking an organized and motivated candidate to serve as our Assistant Treasurer. This 20-hour per week position offers a competitive salary, some benefits, flexible schedule, and opportunity to work with a dedicated team in the heart of Central Vermont.

The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for tracking and managing financial data including processing accounts payable and payroll, preparing warrants, updating the general ledger, processing payroll, benefits administration, bank reconciliation, generating reports, and processing tax payments. The Assistant Treasurer supports the Town Administrator with human resources functions, grant management and reporting.

A draft job description is posted at www.calaisvermont.gov. Prior experience with municipal accounting and NEMRC software is a plus. Wage: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour commensurate with experience. Town residency is not required.
