HIGHWAY FOREMAN
The Town of Waterford is seeking a qualified and experienced Highway Foreman to oversee the maintenance of approximately 48 miles of Town roads, bridges, drainage systems, vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position responsible for overseeing the Highway Department crew, coordinating road maintenance and construction, overseeing equipment maintenance, maintaining records, managing expenditures within the approved budget, and responding to winter weather and highway emergencies.
Qualifications: Experience in road and bridge maintenance and construction; ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment; valid driver’s license and CDL required; strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills; and ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions. A friendly, collaborative approach, strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with Town staff, residents, contractors, and community members are highly desirable.
Schedule: Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the winter season.
