Winter Plowing Contract RFP – 2-year Contract

The Town of St. George will be accepting bids for a 2-year Winter Plowing contract for the 2026-2027 and 2027- 2028 season, with the potential option to renew, for all municipal plowing and winter maintenance needs. This includes plowing, sanding and/or salting Barber Road and the Town Hall parking lot. It also includes the western section of Ayer Road from Route 2A to the Winter Road Barriers (2/10 of a mile). In addition, it also includes installation and removal of winter road barriers, plowing, sanding and/or salting of the continuation of Ayer Road after the seasonal closure, up to Willow Brook Lane, when the road barriers are moved away, and only if required by hazardous weather conditions.
It also includes shoveling and salting and/or sanding for clear and safe pedestrian traffic along entrances, service walkways, and ramps at the Town Hall and the Little Red Schoolhouse.
The Town of St. George is environmentally conscious and prefers minimal use of salt and chloride, while also prioritizing the safety of the Town.
A site visit is highly recommended.
Bid Process and Deadline:
Bids can be mailed or delivered in person to 21 Barber Road, St. George, Vermont, 05495 or emailed to townclerk@stgeorgevt.com. ALL bids must be received no later than Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 4:00pm. Bids will be opened at that time by the Town Clerk and Selectboard Chair and will be decided upon at the following Selectboard Meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Proof of insurance must accompany the bid. Please write “Attn: Winter Plowing Contract Bid” on the front of the envelope or in the email subject line.
