TOWN OF PLAINFIELD

GENERAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR / TRUCK DRIVER / ROAD CREW

Duties:

1. Operation of a dump truck with a plow/wing and sander in a safe and competent manner.

2. Operation of heavy equipment including a grader, loader and and excavator.

3. Routine maintenance of equipment to include a dump truck with plow and sander, a grader, loader and an excavator.

4. Manual labor, including the performance of heavy manual labor, which may be required during periods of inclement weather, as well as other kinds of weather.

5. Completion of maintenance logs and other necessary record keeping on a regular basis.

6. Other additional duties as required by the Road Foreman.

7. Reads, understands, and agrees to follow the Personnel Policy of The Town of Plainfield.

Position Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) minimum.

3. General Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

4. Pre-employment and random drug tests.

5. Ability to lift 80 pounds, and proficiently get in and out of and operate town equipment.

6. Ability to work alone on assigned tasks and be able to follow through to the completion of the task.

Experience:

1. Three (3) years of operating a 7-yard or larger dump truck.

2. Snowplowing with plow and wing.

3. One (1) year of operating construction-type heavy equipment.

4. One (1) year of chainsaw operation.

Wage and Benefits:

1. Position is full time, defined as 40 hours/wk, with some overtime required, including mandatory in winter, at a range of $26-32/hr, commensurate with experience.
