Now Hiring: Equipment Operator / Maintenance Technician
Location: Essex Junction, VT
Department: Public Works
Schedule: Full-Time

Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a direct impact on your community? The City of Essex Junction is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator / Maintenance Technician to join our Public Works team.

What You'll Do

• Operate trucks and equipment for road, sidewalk, and utility maintenance
• Perform snow removal, sanding, and salting operations during winter months
• Complete excavation, asphalt, concrete, and infrastructure repair work
• Maintain water and sewer systems, City buildings, and grounds
• Assist with special events and department projects
• Participate in an on-call rotation for snow removal (November 1 through April 1)

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
• Basic mechanical and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Residence within 60 minutes of Essex Junction

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive Pay

• Non-CDL Operators: $20.05-$24.00 per hour, based on experience
• CDL Operators: Up to $29.58 per hour, based on experience
• CDL training paid by the City after successful completion of the probationary period
