Job Overview:
The Town of Randolph is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Finance Specialist with a background in accounting and financial processes. This position has lead responsibility for the revenue functions of the Finance Department and will cross-train in other functions and will supervise or assist other staff as needed. This critical role will contribute to the updating of our processes and procedures. The position is occasionally customer-facing and plays a role in ensuring residents receive the best possible service. This position reports to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts Receivable: Issue invoices and maintain accounts receivable. Work collaboratively with Treasurer’s office on correct coding of collected revenues. Reconcile receivables and make needed adjustments in financial software.
• Utility Billing: Process monthly utility billing in coordination with the head of the Water Department. Process ‘final read’ requests for properties being transferred. Resolve and reconcile issues that arise in process or individual bills.
• Delinquent Tax: Issue delinquent tax bills and maintain meticulous records consistent with statutory requirements and best practice as required.
• Crosstrain: This position will also cross train in AP and Payroll functions and will assist the Financial Director in managing the workflow and capacity of the AP and Payroll clerks and be an alternate as needed for those biweekly functions.
• Insurance and Retirement: This position will work with the Finance Director on all insurance and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
• Three to five years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• Experience with finance or accounting systems is preferred.
• Experience in NEMRC is strongly preferred.
• Should have general knowledge of municipal operations.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other common office software.
• A professional demeanor with good public relations and people skills.
• Team Player.

Application Process:
Salary range is commensurate with experience. The range is $50,000 to $65,000. This work is primarily in office, but once the candidate is established in the role a hybrid schedule is possible.
