DPW Foreman Position
Barton Village is seeking a DPW Foreman for full-time employment. This is a working foreman position in the areas of constructing, maintaining, and repairing Village streets, highways, storm drains, culverts, ditches, sidewalks, parks, water distribution, and wastewater collection systems and operating and maintaining all associated equipment. This position is primarily responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of public works utilities, facility infrastructures, regulatory issues, training, and budgets. Flexibility of work hours will be required for weather events. Supervision of the Public Works Department Employees will be required.
Qualified candidates should have a valid driver’s license with CDL preferred, five years of experience, CPR certification (or acquire it in the first 3 months of employment), and must also successfully clear a criminal background check. Knowledge of applicable codes, requirements and associated occupational hazards and safety requirements for public works utility industry are not required at the time of hiring but are expected to be developed as part of the position. A two-year college degree or equivalent technical education is preferred.
The salary range is $35.00 - $40.00, depending on experience. This is an hourly full-time (non-collective bargaining unit) position. Barton Village offers a competitive wage and benefits package. This position will be open until it is filled. Barton Village is an equal opportunity employer.
