The Town of Milton, Vermont seeks a qualified person to fill the position of Town Planner in the Planning & Zoning department. This is a full-time professional planning and development position that provides primary staffing and support to the Planning Commission and development review stakeholders. Responsible for focusing on the day-to-day and long-term technical implementation of land-use policies and zoning regulations, advancing the Town’s planning objectives with community-centered initiatives.
Requires a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices associated with municipal land use planning. Ability to accurately interpret and apply codes, ordinances, and statutes. Ability to make public presentations and to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
The starting hourly pay range is $27.00 – $28.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is an hourly, non-exempt, AFSCME union-track position. General hours of operations are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch.
