Description

The Town of Williston Police Department is hiring a full-time public safety Dispatcher to play a crucial role in ensuring public safety. If you possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and a strong desire to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle emergency and non-emergency calls
• Direct calls to appropriate authorities and personnel
• Monitor and respond to radio communications
• Record and manage information, while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications:

·         Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English

·         Ability to remain composed under pressure

·         Proficient multitasking in a fast-paced environment

·         Ability to adeptly use communication and dispatching systems

·         Timeliness, active listening, and attention to detail

Requirements:

·         Pass a comprehensive criminal background check

·         Obtain NCIC certification within six months of hire

·         Previous public safety dispatching experience preferred but not mandatory

Compensation, Benefits, and Additional Info:

·         Competitive starting wage: $28-$30 per hour based on experience

·         $1.50 per hour shift differential for work between 5 pm and 7 am

·         Health and dental insurance, retirement benefits, holidays, vacation, and sick leave

·         Work schedules vary and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime

·         Town of Williston Dispatchers work in unison with Town of Essex Dispatchers and are co-located at the Essex Police Department
