Description

The Village of Bellows Falls is seeking a motivated and dependable Wastewater Utility Operator to assist in operating and maintaining the Town’s wastewater treatment facility and collection system. This position supports critical infrastructure that protects public health and the environment.  We welcome both experienced certified operators and individuals interested in building a career in municipal wastewater operations.

Position Responsibilities

·         Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes

·         Collect samples and perform laboratory testing

·         Maintain operational logs and documentation

·         Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, and related equipment

·         Assist with sewer line and pump station maintenance

·         Participate in an on-call rotation

·         Follow OSHA/VOSHA safety procedures

Qualifications

   Required

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Ability to obtain Vermont Wastewater Operator Certification  (Class I) within one year

·         Valid Vermont Driver’s License

Preferred:

·         Vermont Class II, or III Wastewater Operator Certification

·         Experience in wastewater, public works, utilities, or mechanical trades

 

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Wage Range: $22.00 – $32.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
