Now Hiring: Town Treasurer – Town of Warren
The Town of Warren is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to serve as Town Treasurer, overseeing the Town’s financial operations in accordance with Vermont statutes and Town policies. This is an elected position. The Town intends to appoint a Treasurer to serve until the position can be filled through election. Individuals wishing to run for election must submit a signed candidate petition by January 27th, in accordance with election requirements. Petitions can be obtained from the Warren Town Clerk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, safeguard, and disburse Town funds
- Process payroll and accounts payable
- Manage bank accounts and complete monthly reconciliations
- Collect and deposit taxes and other municipal revenues
- Prepare financial reports and support the annual audit process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Municipal finance or accounting experience
- Knowledge of Vermont municipal finance and statutes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
