The Town of Hartford is hiring for the position of Highway Equipment Operator 1. This position will primarily operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, involving plowing, salting and sanding the roads in the winter, and assisting in general highway maintenance and construction work on other seasons with a focus on operation of basic to moderately complex trucks and equipment as well as manual labor.
Minimum qualifications include: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Tank Endorsements or be able to acquire within 1-year of employment.
The pay range for this position is $22.30 to $28.16 based on experience. Benefit package includes health insurance with a generous HRA and $600 well-being rewards; dental insurance; life insurance; VMERS (VT Retirement) pension plan; subsidized gym membership; vacation, sick, and personal days; 14 paid holidays, and $600 uniform stipend.
