The Assistant Chief Plant Operator position performs operations duties under the guidance of the Chief Plant Operator and makes operational decisions in the absence of the Chief Plant Operator for the City’s wastewater treatment facilities
WHAT YOU WILL DO: As the Assistant Chief Plant Operator, you will:
- Perform operations duties under the guidance of the Chief Plant Operator and make operational decisions in the absence of the Chief Plant Operator for the City’s Wastewater Treatment facilities
- Assist in setting priorities and directing the day-to-day work of the City’s wastewater treatment facilities.
- Submit accurate reports to the State Department of Environmental Conservation and ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations in the absence of the Chief Plant Operator.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: High school diploma or equivalent with coursework in related fields. Three years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid VT CDL license with Tanker Endorsement or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment. This requirement may be waived by the Water Quality Superintendent. VT Grade 3-DM Wastewater Operator’s License or ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.
SALARY RANGE: $71,302 - $75,670 Annually
