The Town Treasurer is responsible for the management of all Town financial activities including:
- Receipt and investment of funds
- Acts as the Town’s collector of current taxes
- Collection of other funds receivable by the Town
- Oversee the Annual Budget process
- Manage the annual audit by the professional CPA firm
- Accounts Payable as approved by the Ferrisburgh Selectboard
- Human Resources administration
- Support for certain Town Clerk duties
Potential Assistant Town Clerk duties include:
- Grants management for Clerks Office/Community
- Highway Dept. Grants/Administration
- Daily transactions including license issuance, DMV renewals, certified copies and general assistance at the customer counter.
- Help produce yearly town report.
- Work at elections.
- Assist with occasional public records requests.
- Serve as notary public.
- Attend selectboard meetings as requested.
This position will divide time between the two roles.
A degree in accounting, public administration or a similarly applicable field is preferred or a minimum three years’ experience in the areas of municipal, public or private accounting including payroll, employee benefits, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
