- Description
The Town of Panton, Vermont (pop 699) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Town Clerk-Treasurer. The Clerk-Treasurer reports to the three-person Panton Selectboard and is responsible for overseeing town operations including finances, all town business and elections. The town clerk-treasurer supervises a part-time clerk and the town’s zoning administrator.
The ideal candidate will possess an excellent work ethic and demonstrate superior customer service, responsive to the needs of the public, employees, the selectboard and other officials. This individual will have a commitment to continuous improvement and learning the duties as described in Vermont law. Capable of handling multiple demands, the clerk-treasurer will work independently and productively to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Three years or more experience in accounting, administration/management, finance or a related discipline.Knowledge and experience with accounting and office productivity software. Familiarity with NEMRC is highly desirable.
Supervisory experience preferred
The starting salary is $63,000 - $70,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision and disability insurance. State of Vermont pension program
