The Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a full-time/year-round position as a building and grounds technician as well as other duties in support of assigned Public Works functions. 

Education:     

Experience with building and groundwork and snowplowing is desired but not necessary.  Will train the right person.  Candidates need to pass a background check and alcohol and drug screening.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Maintains and repairs town public fields; seeds, aerates, mows, and fertilizes; sets up and breaks down athletic field equipment; installs and maintains landscaping; installs plants; prunes trees and bushes; removes trash and debris from town property; repairs and maintains bus shelters; repairs fences and playground equipment; develops building maintenance schedules; obtains prices and bids from vendors and contractors; assists the custodian with maintenance and repairs; performs carpentry tasks; paints interior and exterior surfaces; assists with winter road maintenance; installs and replaces road signs; assists in maintaining roads, bridges and sidewalks; assists in cleaning ditches and culverts; performs the duties of the Building Maintenance Custodian in the absence of the custodian; and performs related duties. 

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience: Starting at $22/hour.
