- Description
The Town of Williston Police Department is seeking a Restorative Justice Specialist to join our team. This role assists the Community Justice Center Director in applying restorative processes and procedures to address crime and conflict within the community, as well as in implementing programs defined by the Vermont Department of Corrections Second Chance Grant and the Town of Williston. Responsibilities include, and are not limited to:
- Assist the Director with database, reporting, and volunteer supervision.
- Manage client files, case referrals, and case resolutions.
- Facilitate and schedule restorative panels and conferences.
- Maintain the Williston Community Justice Center (WCJC) website, social media, and volunteer calendars.
- Support participants in accessing various resources.
- Track WCJC activities and prepare stakeholder reports.
- Assist with coordinating, hosting, or presenting at public forums.
- Assist with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging and Anti-Racism initiatives
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field with 2+ years’ experience, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of restorative justice, criminal justice systems, and social work.
- Trauma-informed, skilled in mediation, and able to remain neutral in conflicts.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Able to handle confidential information and exercise independent judgment.
- Comfortable working with diverse individuals, including offenders and crime victims.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, willing to learn new software.
- Valid Vermont Driver’s License (accommodations considered).
- Successful completion of background check.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting wage: $23-$27 per hour commensurate with qualifications.
